Customer Showcase: Steve & Diana Fitzgerald

Custom Acoustic Sound-Absorbing Feature

We love when customers come to us with a vision for their sound solution.

Steve and Diana Fitzgerald discovered one of our custom multi-depth designs online and wanted to recreate it for their own home to reduce echoes and reverberations:

original inspiration for the design

Working off sketches from Steve, the Audimute Design Services team was engaged to create renderings.

The stunning solution:

  • AcoustiColor® panels coated in the Sherwin-Williams colors Cobble Brown (SW 6082) + Tavern Taupe (SW 7508)
  • AcoustiStone® panels in a modified version of our Medium Desert Cliff Rock style, using the Sherwin-Williams color Pennywise (SW 6349) for orange

Steve did the installation himself using a Paslode® Brad Nailer from Audimute.

The outcome: an immediate improvement in sound quality for the Fitzgeralds, with significant reduction in how much sound was being reflected into the upstairs area.

Thank you, Steve and Diana, for choosing Audimute for your sound management solution!

Customer Showcase: SIlas Hite

Audimute Treatment of Silas Hite's Studio

Emmy-winning composer Silas Hite has scored music for film, TV, video games, and commercials, and when he relocated from California to his home state of Ohio a couple years ago, it was crucial that he could have an acoustically treated space to continue that work. "I need to be able to record, mix, and deliver at the highest-quality level audio possible," he says. "This means having great-sounding rooms."

As Silas began work on his new studio, he soon ran into a sound problem that his initial acoustic treatment wasn't solving. "I was still getting some high frequency flutter in my tracking room," Silas says. "I was fairly certain it was coming from the sound waves bouncing off of the untreated parts of the walls."

Enter Audimute. Silas turned to us for lightweight, sound-absorbing solutions that could treat the flutter echo while also fitting in with the design of his studio. Our Fabric Acoustic Panels wrapped in textiles of Silas's choosing were fastened to various reflective surfaces around the tracking room, while six additional 4' x 4' panels were added to the ceiling of his control room to address additional acoustic issues.

Silas also worked with Audimute to install sound-absorbing material in the space within the double-paned window separating his studio's tracking and control rooms. "The window is handmade and the woodwork is beautiful, so I wanted the [look of the] sound treatment inside the window to complement it," Silas says. "With Audimute, I was able to customize the fabric to my taste."

The outcome is a studio that sounds incredible while also staying true to Silas's aesthetic vision. Thank you, Silas, for letting Audimute be a part of your success story.

Customer Showcase: Khirye Tyler

The home studio of Grammy-nominated producer and songwriter Khirye Tyler

We're proud to unveil the new Audimute studio of Grammy-nominated songwriter and producer Khirye Tyler!

Best known for his work with such superstars as Beyoncé, Meek Mill, and Roddy Ricch, Khirye was put in touch with Audimute when he needed a sound-absorbing solution for his new home studio. After several phone calls and consultations, we created an acoustic treatment using AcoustiColor® acoustic panels in a geometric design, Fabric Acoustic Panels on the side walls of the space, and custom-made bass traps for the corners.

The outcome was an acoustically treated space that allows Khirye to use his studio the way it was intended to be used, with crisp, clear sound quality free of excessive echo and reverb.

Check out the video below for a look at Khirye Tyler's Audimute studio!

Russell Township Community Room

Audimute Fabric Acoustic Panels absorbing echoes and reverb

In March 2024, Russell Township, Ohio, broke ground on a new 2,500-square-foot community building featuring a large room intended for use by both elected officials and the public.

As construction on the space continued throughout 2024 and early 2025, a sound quality issue soon caught the attention of the township's Board of Trustees.

"[The] acoustics in that room, it just echoes so badly,” said Russell Township Fiscal Officer Karen Walder to the Geagua County Maple Leaf in March 2025.

Russell Township brought in Thomas Ryan from Technological Design Studios to conduct an acoustic analysis of the site, after which he presented his findings to the Board of Trustees and recommended Audimute as a partner on the acoustic solution.

This past July, a team from Audimute installed custom-made 3" Fabric Acoustic Panels on the walls and ceiling of the community room to absorb echoes and reverberations. At Russell Township's request, the panels were mounted on rails to create 2" offsets.

And on August 7, with improved acoustics in place, the Russell Township Trustees finally held their first official meeting in the new community room.

AcoustiColor® Acoustic Mural

Mural painted on AcoustiColor acoustic panels

At Audimute, we love it when our acoustic solutions become the canvas for someone else's creativity -- in this case, literally!

After purchasing eight AcoustiColor® panels from Audimute to improve the acoustics in his game room, Clay Hildebrant hired artist Ariane O'Day to paint a mural directly onto the 4'x4' panels.

Says Ariane, who used Behr exterior latex paint on the panels: "I was honestly worried that the panels would just soak [the paint] all up and the paint wouldn’t be able to cover, but I was pleasantly surprised!"

The final result really took flight: a sound-absorbing mural perfect for reducing echoes and reverberations.

(And to those wondering: painting over an AcoustiColor panel may reduce the sound-absorbing efficacy of the area under the paint by 5% to 10%, but with AcoustiColor panels carrying an NRC rating of 0.95, you'll still have a solution that will significantly cut down on poor acoustics!)

Life Point Church

AcoustiColor acoustic panels in Life Point Church

Life Point Church in Mentor, Ohio, recently contacted Audimute to address the acoustics in its newly constructed auditorium ahead of its opening. The size of the venue, its layout (two tiers of seating), and the role of live music and livestreaming in Life Point's services called for a sound-absorbing treatment that offered lots of effective coverage.

The Audimute solution — AcoustiColor® acoustic panels coated to match the surroundings and installed in three key locations:

  • The back walls of both the balcony and the ground floor
  • The sides of the auditorium
  • The back wall of the stage

Soon after hosting their first services in the new auditorium, Life Point reached out to Audimute with rave reviews: "Our services went great...such an exciting day for Life Point! The acoustical panels made a huge difference and we love the way they look. I must say you and your team made this part of the project so easy for us and we were really amazed at the attention to detail and the professionalism of your team."

McDowell County Visitor Center

Fabric Acoustic Ceiling Clouds

In late 2024, an old water heater at the McDowell County Tourism & Visitor Center in western North Carolina finally gave out and flooded the building, causing such significant damage that the flooring and furnishings had to be replaced. And while echoes had always been a problem in the visitor center, they became even worse in the wake of the water damage.

"The acoustics were overwhelming," says Kim Effler, president and CEO of the McDowell Chamber of Commerce and McDowell Visitor Center. "There were days we truly couldn't hear ourselves think."

With upwards of 20,000 visitors passing through the center every year en route to McDowell County's many attractions and activities, Kim knew the acoustics needed to be addressed.

Her search for an effective yet affordable acoustic solution brought her to Audimute and our Fabric Accent Acoustic Ceiling Clouds. Ideal for rooms with high ceilings or limited wall space, each Fabric Accent Acoustic Ceiling Cloud has an NRC rating of .95, absorbing an average of 95% of echoes, reverberations, and mid to high frequencies.

With three hexagon-shaped Fabric Accent Acoustic Ceiling Clouds now installed, the difference in sound quality inside the McDowell County Visitor Center has been significant.

"Acoustically, the space is now so much better," Kim says. "The ceiling clouds have created a calmer, more productive environment. Our team noticed the improvement immediately, and even our visitors have commented on how peaceful the space feels. It’s been a game-changer."

Good Nature Therapy Services

When pediatric Speech-Language Pathology and Occupational Therapy practice Good Nature Therapy Services contacted Audimute about sound management solutions for its brand new clinic in Aurora, Ohio, better acoustics weren't just a preference — they were a necessity for Good Nature's clients, many of whom have sensory processing difficulties that are worsened by background noise, echoes, and overall poor acoustics.

In addition to reverberations in the clinic's gymnasium and therapy rooms, there were also acoustic issues in the lobby area, where conversations containing sensitive medical and personal information were at risk of being amplified.

Working off a concept by Cleveland's innovative Richardson Design, Audimute introduced several acoustic solutions to absorb these echoes, reverberations, and mid to high frequencies:

- Custom AcoustiColor® Direct Mount Ceiling Panels designed to resemble tree canopies and clouds
- AcoustiColor Wall Panels installed around the top edges of therapy rooms
- Custom made Fabric Acoustic Panels intended for use as push pin bulletin boards
- Custom size Fabric Acoustic Panels arranged in a "shiplap" style

The result: an acoustically treated clinic where clients with sensory integration difficulties can better communicate and patient privacy is protected.
